New Music

The link to this music was on Warren Ellis' website.
I'm beginning to enjoy electronic music more than when I was younger. Probably because in my youth I hated with a passion anything that sounded like it was produced with a synthesizer, especially bad synthesizer. Although, I really dug and still do, OMD and the Pet Shop Boys.
enjoy

TEST Conroy and Wolfe

Good morning,
I wrote a blog earlier today about the author Pat Conroy's feelings for Thomas Wolfe that he revealed in his memoir, My Reading Life http://www.amazon.com/My-Reading-Life-Pat-Conroy/dp/0385533578 I highly suggest the book. Conroy's feelings and revelations about Wolfe are similar to my own and I quoted him extensively in my blog post and then wrote my own kind paean to both great writers of such lyrical and musical prose. It appears that Posterous has lost my post because I foolishly used a Posterous app on my iphone that I downloaded to make blogging easier.
How assuming I am to expect things to work properly. Is it me, or are we paying more for stuff of lesser quality? And before someone good heartedly come along and points out that Posterous and iphone Posterous apps are free, I still say, quality is important damn it, even if it's free stuff we need to demand quality.
I will now step off my soap box and let somebody else have a turn.
Who's next?

Strange angle Pic of me Writing at 4am

Banjos at 3:15 AM

3:15am Sunday, writing music, The Yonder String Band...good stuff, those boys can jam. I'm doing an AMH overnight and working on my novel. For once, I'm ahead on book review assignments and I used a little of that (ha) spare time to catch up on my comic books subscriptions. Not one dud in the entire stack, stand out titles were the new Batman books, Hellblazer, John Hickman's series SHIELD
Brubaker's Captain America and I grudgingly admit, Dan Slott is doing a hell uv a job on Amazing Spiderman, even though I despise the whole OMIT thing. Morrison's Batman Incorporated opens up a new avenue for The Batman that is original and I'm looking forward to seeing where he goes with it. Do yourself a favor, snag Andy Diggle's Daredevil Reborn when it comes out. I saw a preview and I can't wait to read the whole book. I have an idea for a pitch for a Challengers of the Unknown story, but I'm going to sit on it because DC does not accept unsolicited scripts or pitches. That's okay, my time is coming. I can feel it.
Okay, enough nonsense, back to work. Bring on the caffeine fairies, cause I need a refill. My goddamn thumb still hurts but it is showing signs of improvement. And just to brag a little, I'm on page 568. That's right, 568 pages of a double spaced manuscript that is my novel. Except for these little brain dumps on this site and myTwitter farts, my writing consists of, book reviewing, note taking, a poem or two and my novel (unless you count the creative writing I do for my two daughter's school absences and the checks I write for my eldest daughter's upcoming wedding in 2012.) Oh, hey, I turned 43 Tuesday the 18th.

Link to New Web Comic

I found this link to a web comic on Warren Ellis' website. It's a quick read, but i like where it is going. The art work is simplistic with an almost Manga flavor but primitive. I don't normally go for that style but something about this artist's work appeals to me. At first glance, the dialogue seems too simple. This is misleading, Halfway through the first issue I realized that the author is allowing readers to experience the character's process of getting to know each other, a feeling each other out period. Very clever.
Anyway,here is the link:
